Our under 11's played Bagenalstown White away. Starting with the wind in our backs, Parkville seemed to be taking control of the game, but unfortunately, a lot of our attacks ended with the ball running over the line due to the wind. Bagenalstown caught us on the break, leaving a one-on-one with our goalkeeper, and slotting it home. Baganelstown started to win the physical battles and made it 2-0 soon after. Adam Cleary got one back for Parkville before halftime with a great piece of skill. 2-1 the first half ended.
The start of the second-half showed that playing into the wind was more of a help than a hindrance. With a run up the right-hand side of the pitch, Adam Cleary saw his shot hit the upright and go wide. Shortly after that Adam saw another shot hit the crossbar and go over which started to tell the tale of Parkville's luck in the second half. Parkville's Jack Byrne drew the sides level with a close-range shot making the score 2-2.
Baganelstown seemed to use the wind to their advantage creating plenty of chances on the break, but the back line for Parkville did very well keeping the score tied.
Unfortunately, with five minutes to go a momentary lapse in concentration saw Baganelstown convert a goalmouth scrap giving them the lead. Parkville had three more chances before the final whistle but unfortunately could not hit the net.
All in all, it was a good performance from our lads. The deciding factor seems to be lacking in a little bit of Luck and physicality. 3-2 the final score.
Best for Parkville Adam Cleary, Niall Delaney, Charlie Mulhall and Jack Smith.
